What Can Any Of Us Do?

When Barack Hussein Obama and the DNC selected Joe Biden for his running mate in 2008, I wondered what in the world were these people thinking. They picked the second sorriest senator in Washington for vice president, having picked the most inexperienced, first-time, no accomplishments senator for the lead position. In my mind, no one but fools and racists would vote for these two. One was a nobody plucked out of Illinois and the other was the most corrupt, inept senator ever to serve in modern times.

Well, I was about as wrong as pickle juice on ice cream. These unthinkable candidates upended the world, and except for four years of Donald J. Trump, it hasn’t righted yet. In fact, it’s worse than ever, and I am in great fear for my country.

The horrors of these two administrations have been well covered by writers far superior to me. The common thread that we all share is that we loved our country as children and young adults, and still cannot imagine that our beautiful America has turned into a country that hates us, hates our history, hates our material success, hates our leadership in the world, hates our love of family, God and country.

Where I live in Louisiana, a lot of that hatred has yet to reach us, but we have seen changes that makes us shake our heads at the stupidity in other parts of the country. But we are just as hurt as everyone else by the rising prices of groceries, energy, insurance, water bills, in short, everything.

My parish, Catahoula, is one of the poorest parishes in the state. We have wonderful farmland and some very capable farmers on these farms; my husband was one of those very capable men, as were two of my brothers. But a lot of land is owned by a few people, and where once there were many families on these farms and plantations, families who planted, worked and harvested crops, they are no more. They have all gone to town, to other parishes, or other states, for they have been replaced by modern machinery.

There’s no industry in Catahoula to amount to anything, and not likely to be anytime soon. Government checks keep many families going, but they only help so much. Job openings are few, for all who can and will work have filled those positions.

We have many elderly people who worked all their lives, who now have to live on their bit of Social Security and little else. They can’t handle the grocery increases, along with astronomical electric bills, gasoline prices, and medicine, the basics of life. Hoping to save money or have extra for a supper at a restaurant is now impossible. They are suffering, as are millions in this country, but there is no help for these American citizens.

Instead, every thug, cretin, troglodyte alien that crosses our Southern Border are better cared for than our own citizens. They get more money, food, and free health care than our own people can even hope to receive. There seems to be no end to these invaders, thanks to the, how shall I say this nicely, the fatherless minions of the biden administration.

If we had had a strong republican party in 2021, biden would have been stopped at the starting gate, but we had a feckless bunch who talked big talk, but didn’t do a damned thing to stop what biden and the communists were doing. Their huffing and puffing of late are an improvement, but the gate has been opened too long, and we are overrun with illegal invaders. I guarantee they are planning to attack us within our country, and the republicans will be just as culpable as biden and his handlers when the misery comes.

Meanwhile, I am as prepared as an aging boomer can be, but that ain’t saying a lot. I would suggest everyone have at least the basics of food, water, batteries, a good radio, extra gasoline, and blankets and quilts for when the power goes out in the winter. A few dogs are good to have, and of course, ammo for our second amendment firearms. Other than that what can we do, comrades, except pray daily to Almighty God to protect us from the evil ones.

  1. Alma, great observation, I am 110% in concurrence with your observations.
My prayer life has been very active since the stolen FJB debacle, actually the Kenyan’s 3rd term.
Praying our Nation turns its face to God, begs for his mercy & healing, and He is moved to do so🙏🇺🇸
