Betwixt and Between

When third or fourth “false Spring” reverts to gray skies and chill winds in Virginia we “oldsters” know that we’re still neither here nor there.  It’s not Winter and it’s not Summer.  It’s not the inevitable, irreversible Spring of steadily warming with ever greening and growing.  We’re just betwixt and between.

So, it goes.

Virginia is betwixt and between the deceitful, unlawful, un-Constitutional Re-districting Referendum and the final judicial ruling.  Betwixt and between the excesses of the ruling Bolsheviks in Richmond and the next step in opposing them and, ultimately, defeating them.

America is betwixt and between more things than you can shake a stick at.  The conflict with Iran is on the front burner.  Every election cycle at every level is another contest worth winning.  Every institution – Government, Business, Education, Media, Arts and Entertainment, Religion, and Family is caught in the crossfire of a No Mans Lands in the Great U.S. Culture War.  That’s the struggle against Cultural Marxism and it’s new, best ally – Islamist Totalitarianism.

Western Civilization is betwixt and between the 3rd World Immigrant invasion enabling the Muslim Hejira and the Civil War likely to decide the fate of the West and world’s best hope for Humanity.

If we’re neither here nor there on so many things, then “Quo Vadis”?  Where are you going?

Me and the mouse in my pocket are going to be in the race for as long as we can – as best we can.

What race?

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”  Hebrews 12:2

Live life daily from rising to resting doing our very best to be disciples, witnesses, teachers, doers, shepherds, comforters, friends, protectors, servants, helpers, givers, and family.

Move our thoughts, words, and actions in the direction our daily Bible reading directs.

Be thankful, grateful, content, peaceful, and joyful despite inevitable hardships and disappointment.

Above all, love the Lord God with all our heart, mind, strength, and soul.  Love others as we love ourselves.

Rejoice in the moment.  Reflect on the past.  Read about it to understand both today and tomorrow.  Hope for the future – no matter what.

And, I’ll continue to do what I heard in my mind on March 15th , 1987.  “You will read and write.”

So, it goes for me.  Reading and absorbing so much to compose later feels like Grad Schools.  It provides perspective.

Like, my race is short and small by worldly measures.  Yet, the ideas which motivate me are eternal and powerfully great.

The agape, philos, eros, and storge loves in my life are deep, enduring, and unconditional.  Inspiring and fulfilling.

I’ll serve, as well as possible, as a good husband, father, grandfather, kin, friend, church family member, old comrade in arms, citizen, and neighbor.

I’ll continue to make the enemies that I’m proud to earn.

Moreover, may we all earn the praise, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
