Happy New Year; Whatever Humans Touch, Turns Into Garbage

As the clock strikes midnight and the calendar turns to yet another year, we find ourselves on the starting line of this cosmic relay race, sprinting into a fresh chapter of our lives. It’s that time again – a joyous occasion where we bid adieu to the old and welcome the new with open arms, all while secretly knowing it’s just another lap around the sun, destined to repeat the same old mistakes, albeit with a sprinkle of hope and newfound resolutions.

Ah, the illustrious history of mankind, a tapestry woven with threads of incompetence, folly, and an astounding knack for repeating the same mistakes over and over again. From the glorious empires of old, drenched in conquest and oppression, to the modern-day bureaucratic muddles, it’s crystal clear that the track record of humanity in governing itself is nothing short of a tragic comedy.

Peek into the annals of history, and what do we find? A cavalcade of rulers, kings, emperors, and presidents, each convinced they hold the secret to harmonious governance. Yet, time and again, they stumble down the path of authoritarianism, corruption, and tyranny faster than you can say “power corrupts.”

The pages of history are splattered with failed experiments in human governance, showcasing our innate ability to mess things up royally. Be it the endless cycle of revolutions followed by new tyrants, or the perpetual struggle between democracy and despotism, we’ve proved ourselves as adept at bungling governance as we are at breathing.

And let’s not forget the mind-boggling paradox of our species: the more we yearn for freedom and equality, the more adept we become at undermining these very principles. How noble of us to fight for liberty while simultaneously constructing systems that trample on the rights of many for the benefit of a few.

In conclusion, the history of man’s governance over man is a tragic chronicle of shortsightedness, ego, and an astounding inability to learn from our own blunders. We might as well nominate a troupe of bumbling clowns to run the show (2024 elections) at least the calamity would be more entertaining.  There is an old instruction book somewhere, that tells us how not to repeat this same mistakes. But most of us are too afraid to read it.  Have a Happy New Year.
