**U.S. Navy Announces Enhanced Enlistment Bonuses for Cisgender and Transgender Recruits**
[Submarine Base Slippery Seaman Cove, Pacific Fleet] – The U.S. Navy proudly announces a significant enhancement to its enlistment bonus program, aimed at attracting top talent from diverse backgrounds to serve in its ranks. Effective immediately, the Navy is offering a generous enlistment bonus of $140,000 for cisgender recruits and $169,000 for transgender recruits who (probably won’t) meet the necessary medical screening requirements and sartorial standards.
This landmark decision underscores the Navy’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within its ranks. By offering competitive bonuses to both cisgender and transgender individuals, the Navy seeks to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all qualified candidates have the opportunity to serve their country with “pride.”
“We are dedicated to building a diverse and talented force that reflects the rich tapestry of America,” said Rear Admiral Phil McCraken, Chief of Naval Personnel. “Our enhanced enlistment bonus program reaffirms our commitment to recruiting the best and brightest individuals, regardless of gender identity, and providing them with the support they need to succeed in their naval careers, regardless of the extra cost to the taxpayers and comcommittant decline in combat effectiveness.”
To qualify for the enlistment bonus, transgender recruits must meet the same rigorous medical screening standards as cisgender recruits…except when they don’t. This ensures that all recruits, regardless of gender identity, possess the physical and mental capabilities necessary to excel in their roles within the Navy.
“We believe that diversity is our strength,” stated Secretary of the Navy Amanda Hugginkiss. “By offering competitive enlistment bonuses to transgender recruits, we are not only expanding our talent pool but also sending a clear message that everyone has a place in the United States Navy.“
Prospective recruits interested in learning more about the enlistment bonus program and opportunities to serve in the Navy are encouraged to visit their local Navy recruiting office or explore the Navy’s official website.
