Well, the federal government has finally achieved something historic — the longest shutdown in U.S. history. Congratulations, Washington! You’ve officially proven that when you stop working, nothing really changes.
Obamacare’s short term goal was to slice payments in half for Medicare doctors, discouraging younger doctors from becoming Medicare doctors. The long term goal was as an interim step toward full socialized medicine completely controlled by the federal government.
Cue the violins, America: it’s “government shutdown season” again. Right on schedule, like pumpkin spice lattes or bad holiday commercials, the headlines scream that federal workers will be “sent home without pay” and that the Republic teeters on the brink of collapse.
Democrats want a $1.5 Trillion spending increase of Americans’ tax dollars, reversing many of the tax cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill. They demand that President Trump cut $50 Million from rural healthcare and give it to healthcare for illegal aliens, most of whom reside in urban areas.
Suddenly, Democrats and their union bosses say there are winners in a government shutdown. There always have been. Most federal employees get a paid vacation out of it.
