A former Hollywood big name thinks America is “Abby-Normal” right now. I beg to disagree.
It’s morning again in America. Today more men and women will go to work than ever before in our country’s history. With interest rates at about half the record highs of 1980, nearly two thousand families today will buy new homes, more than at any time in the past four years. This afternoon 6,500 young men and women will be married, and with inflation at less than half of what it was just four years ago, they can look forward with confidence to the future. It’s morning again in America, and under the leadership of President Reagan, our country is prouder and stronger and better. Why would we ever want to return to where we were less than four short years ago?

On Monday the 4th I was sitting at my VFW meeting trying to stay awake. Not knocking the great people there, but the auxiliary provided a delicious dinner. Unfortunately no coffee to keep us going. And my mind wondered a bit from an article I saw last week.
Mike Farrell, best known for playing BJ Hunnicutt in M*A*S*H, was seen with an anti-Trump hat. The blue baseball cap proclaimed, “MAKE AMERICA NORMAL AGAIN.” So the former Dr. Hunnicutt thinks we were “normal” under Joe Biden or Barrack Obama. That sounded a bit abby normal to me, so I started writing down things that are more normal now than on January 19. 2025.
1. We are stopping the mutilation of children in the name of “gender dysphoria.” It’s actually the worse form of Munchausen syndrome by proxy I can think of. Doctors (better called quacks), with the permission of “parents,” maim children because they wanted their boys to be girls and girls to be boys. It never occurs to these “adults” that as a child enters puberty they are confused in sexual roles (among other things). That is a given. You have parents, siblings, teachers, counselors, etc. to get them through his difficult phase of life. Destroying their bodies, eliminating their ability to reproduce, making them dependent on injections for a false identity is not normal. Sorry Dr. Hunnicutt, see Dr. Sidney Freidman if you need this explained to you.
2. We are keeping boys out of girls’ bathrooms. Mike, you at least played a doctor on TV, you should know this. If you have a penis, you are a male. If you have a vagina, you are female. Also, we’re keeping pitiful males out of female sports. Just months after we returned to sanity, the NCAA stripped all medals from a pathetic male swimmer who stole them from female athletes. We have separate facilities and competitions for the two sexes because we a civilized nation. We recognize males and females are different. That is normal.
3. We are keeping mentally ill people out of the armed forces. Mike, you did wear a uniform on TV, you should understand to a degree, what the Army does. We are not there to help people with their issues, but to win our wars. If you have issues like I listed about, fine, I wish you well on handling them. Do it on your own time, and your own dime.
4. The border is secure. Mike, a nation without borders is like a house without walls, it doesn’t exist. On day one, Trump ended the unlawful policy of “Catch and Release,” returning illegal aliens to their home countries. Unless you missed it Mike, it’s not normal for an invasion of 10-12 thousand illegal aliens a day coming in and disappearing. Since Trump became your president, the Border Patrol is not dealing with thousands of crossings a day, but a couple of hundred. Over four states. A secure border, that is normal.
5. We have stopped the war on American energy. Mike, you want to have a warm home, electricity, a working car (or electricity for your battery-operated vehicle), they require power generation. You need oil, natural gas, nuclear energy, or coal. Sorry, windmills are not “clean,” neither is a solar cell. Also approximately 80% of crude oil is used for energy. The other portion is used for thousands of products we use daily. Aspirin. Styrofoam. Asphalt. Soap. Anything plastic or rubber. So for the foreseeable future (and likely our grandchildren’s) we need oil. Sorry Mike, but the economy doesn’t run on dreams and fairy tale dust. It takes a reliable energy supply at market prices.
6. We have stopped the war on the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel. After the greatest massacre on Jews since the Holocaust, Israel has fought a war against terrorist groups who have vowed to wipe that country off the map. We have been supporting them and unlike Joe O’Biden, not held up crucial weapons because of Hamas using their children as human shields. We joined Israel in targeting the power behind the latest war against Israel, Iran. In one day we destroyed Tehran’s nuclear weapon’s program for the foreseeable future. Hopefully we’re supporting the Iranian resistance in their work to bring freedom to the long-suffering people of Iran.
7. We have put the federal bureaucracy on a diet, something needed for decades. We started the purge of the departments of DEI, Affirmative Action, and other useless positions who’s only purpose is to eat of our substance and harass law abiding citizens. The Trump administration has eliminated funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and cut support for the NEA. Left wing propagandists can fund raise themselves.
8. We are fighting the anti-Semitism that has taken root on many college campuses. Explaining to the heads of colleges with multi-billion-dollar endowments if they fail to safeguard Jews on campus, the public will not support them. Mike, a kid from Crown Heights should normally be able to walk across Columbia University without fear of being attacked by anti-Sematic gangs allowed on campus.
9. The O’Biden “Just Us” department has been changed back to the US Department of Justice. We are not targeting parents attending school board meetings, or Catholics as “radical extremists.” Mike, remember parents at school board meetings rioting and looting stores in our cities? Or Catholic gangs tearing up small businesses across the country? No because it didn’t happen. The DOJ under Biden targeted John and Jane Q Public’s, but did not charge thousands of BLM rioters who caused billions in damage and over a dozen deaths. It’s normal to investigate criminals and if needed, prosecute them in accordance with the law. It’s normal to not target parents concerned over what is being taught to their kids at school. Got it Mike?

That was what I wrote down by the end of the meeting. Give me a bit more time I know I could think of other examples. But I’m tired and 5am comes early. So yes Mike, Trump, MAGA, etc. is Making American Normal Again. No thanks to you and your leftist friends. So please, get back to the Swamp and reminisce with Hawkeye about how great you were when M*A*S*H was on. And remember, Klinger was crazy, but not as crazy as you and your party are now.
