Biden Repeats the Mistakes of Lyndon Johnson

LBJ was afraid to “provoke” Russia, even though Russia provided the weapons and some personnel for the Vietnamese to kill Americans. Biden won’t send MIG 29 planes to Ukraine because he is afraid it would “provoke” Russia which is slaughtering Ukrainians. Russia does not worry about provoking the USA when we have a weak president.

Iran, The Other Iranians

Ayatollah Khamenei

During his sadly pathetic State of the Ukraine Union address, Joe Biden slipped up and accidentally let us know what his real priorities are.  As America’s and the world’s focus is on the Ukrainians, the Brandon regime’s focus is on the other Iranians, you know, the ones in Iran.  Americans would be rightly aghast at the amount of appeasement our negotiators are filling a new Iran deal with.  These negotiations remind me of labor negotiations between the government and government unions.  It’s neither’s money, so it doesn’t matter to either side what happens to our tax dollars.  Our negotiators over at Foggy Bottom seem to think they are playing with someone else’s money, as if they aren’t Americans looking out for America’s best interest.

As some “wise” members of Congress call for the assassination of Vladimir Putin, our State Department is in the process of assassinating our safety and security vis-à-vis this new Iran deal.  This is par for the course with this administration.  The formerly mainstream media has shown no desire to explore the details of this disastrous dealmaking, much less report on it to the American people.  As with the ongoing invasion of our southern border, apparently members of the media believe if they don’t cover it, it’s not actually happening.  If they don’t investigate, there must not be anything to investigate.  In this case, what you don’t know can kill you and will.

Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House, says it best, “There’s an anti-American pattern to this administration that is really weird.”  Why does Biden and company seem bent on hurting the country?  Why would the Biden administration want to renegotiate the failed Obama Iran Nuke deal, JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action)?  It didn’t work the first time.  Why would it work now, especially with the U.S. negotiating from a position of weakness?  The Mullahs in Iran know that our Green New Deal president is already begging them, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia for more oil.  The Mullahs and other bad international actors have Joe surrounded while he pretends to demand their surrender.

The JCPOA was destined to fail even before President Trump withdrew the U.S. from it on May 9, 2018.  It was purposely soft on Iran.  It lifted all previous sanctions with little likelihood of reinstatement, even for violations of the agreement.  Contrary to the Obama admin and its acolytes in the press, there were no real “snap back” inspections provided for.  The inspection provisions were so onerous that Iran had time to play “hide and seek” with its nuclear material.  No inspections of military bases were allowed.  These provisions enabled Iran to wantonly cheat

Israel confirmed that its intelligence agents had pilfered hundreds of Iranian documents proving Iran had been cheating all along.

“The stolen documents contained detailed information on dozens of nuclear weapons-related projects, some previously unknown outside of Iran. The documents indicated Iran’s nuclear weapons program was far more advanced than it had admitted to the IAEA, that Iran had misled and lied to the IAEA and the international community about its nuclear program in disclosures required by the JCPOA, and that the Iranian government had taken steps to deceive IAEA inspectors after the JCPOA was implemented. The documents also suggested some covert Iranian nuclear weapons activities were still under way.”

In addition, Obama never submitted this international treaty to the U.S. Senate for ratification by a 2/3 majority vote, as required by our Constitution.  He didn’t have the votes to pass it, so he did an end run ‘round the Senate and the Constitution with the help of feckless RINO’s led by Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee.

Regardless of all the evidence of cheating, President Brandon is plowing ahead with negotiations with Iran AND Russia on a new deal.  The very same Russia we are supposedly at war with over Ukraine and oil is brokering this deal in secret negotiations.  The Neville Chamberlain of 2022 has Iran right where they want him. The leaked highlights of the sweetheart deal:

  • No accounting for cheating, previous or current
  • Lifts sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran and the National Iranian Oil Company
  • $60 billion in judgments owed to American victims of Iran-sponsored terrorism, erased
  • Sunsets of earlier deal provisions remain and begin as early as 2025
  • Still no inspections of military bases allowed

This horrendous deal would allow Iran to continue in its role as the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism.  The billions of dollars in sanctions relief will go toward terrorism and Iran’s secret nuclear weapons program.  And as an added bonus, Iran will sell hundreds of millions of barrels of oil to the U.S., keeping the Mullahs swimming in cash.  What could possibly go wrong?

Will Biden attempt another end run around the Senate like his mentor Obama did?  Thirty-three Republican Senators have sent a letter to Biden warning him to submit any new Iran treaty to the Senate for approval.  Why only 33 Republicans instead of all 50?  The uni-party RINO’s are as feckless as Biden and his Democrats.  Biden will assert that this deal isn’t new, and no Senate vote is needed.  A Republican majority Senate didn’t stop Obama and Biden knows a 50-50 Senate won’t stop him.

No one in the Biden administration is looking out for the security interests of the U.S.  Biden will betray America and our closest ally in the middle east, Israel.  With the eyes of the world on Ukraine, the Biden regime will sneak this deal through with the help of his media pals.  Only a handful of Republicans will mouth any toothless opposition.  And once again, the minions of the left who control Biden will have won another victory over common sense and over the U.S.

Thoughts on Ukraine, Part 9: Impact on World’s Food

Thoughts on Ukraine, Part 9: Impact on World’s Food Figure Sunflower Oil and Wheat are Two Key Ukrainian Food Exports One voice missing from the security discussions on Ukraine is food security. Thoughts on Ukraine, Part 7: The Joint Corporatist Scenario

Part 7 looks at the Joint Russia-China corporatist scenario. At what point would the differences rupture cooperation? In the event of a rupture, would one turn on the other? Could China buy up Russian companies and co-opt the interests of the kleptocrats or are their cultures and motives too dissimilar?
One thing is clear, there are stresses in the mix. Lukoil shines a spotlight on them.
Is Putin losing his grip if LukOil feels like they can criticize his strategy and call for an end to it?

Thoughts on Ukraine, Part 6: Mutual Destruction?

The attack on the Ukrainian nuclear plant was a risk. If the strike damaged the containment vessel, it could have unleashed nuclear radiation. That got me thinking about the broader risks of destruction.
• Russian destroys Ukrainian cities and infrastructure trying to take it. More adventures like the nuclear plant could do it.
• Oligarchs in Russia see both a crisis and an opportunity and arrest/kill Putin and take control and force a “favorable” settlement with Ukraine that lets the oligarchs buy Ukrainian assets and resources.
• The west’s sanctions cripple the west and the Russians, leaving an opportunity for the Chinese to go after both. Perhaps they are crocodile watching the two snakes fight it out to take them both.

Russian antiwar activists from Moscow tO Siberia once again took to the streets SUNDAY

Public Demonstration Rally

Protests against the invasion started Thursday in Russia and have continued daily ever since, even as Russian police have moved swiftly to crack down on the rallies and detain protesters. The Kremlin has sought to downplay the protests, insisting that a much broader share of Russians support the assault on Ukraine.

Thoughts on Ukraine, Part 2: Kleptocracy, Not Patriotism or Shared Nationality

Map of Ukrainian Resources

Kleptocracy is at the heart of Putin’s government. CSIS states, “The breadth and depth of Russian organized crime already runs so wide and deep, that Russia is on the verge of becoming a criminal syndicalist state, dominated by a lethal mix of gangsters, corrupt officials, and dubious businessmen.”
Part 2 discusses Ukraine’s abundant resources as the possible objective for the Russian invasion. While it may not be the only objective, it is quite possibly a significant driving force. If the Russian kleptocrats are concerned about the security of the Siberian resource basin, Ukraine could be extremely important.

John Kerry Worried Ukraine Crisis Will Take World’s Focus Off Climate Change; Yes Really

“Now, it’s [the northern part of Russia] thawing and his infrastructure is at risk. And the people of Russia are at risk. And so, I hope President Putin will help us to stay on track with respect to what we need to do for the climate.”
