And His Woke Sidekick, too Part 1
Leftists continuously attack 17-21 year-old males for displaying the very attributes needed to win our nation’s wars. Then we wonder why we can’t seem to recruit enough of them to fill the ranks.
My personal perspective on West Point, obviously, is mine alone. It’s aged over 50 years since graduation and informed by 65 years of reading history as well as over 2 decades working as an Army “Futurist.” I believe West Point should focus on creating the cadre of the “military priesthood” of the U.S. Army. I know such a shift would get mixed results, but 50 years from now Americans would know the Long Gray Line is about winning America’s wars above all else.
A month ago seven old men who spent 4 years together as company mates at West Point compared memories on why each went there, stayed, and what the place meant – personally. Each testimony was different. Here’s what I wrote 4 years ago and stands the same now. It’s purely a personal epistle.
50 years after graduation from West Point is a time for remembering. My memories of a Hellish summer aren’t a criticism of anything or anyone – lest sensitivities be triggered in comparison. It’s just one story of the past to tell and consider thoughtfully.
How my West Point Class of 1972 mattered to the Army is why I care about West Point today. That begs the question, “Why does West Point matter?” What matters today – for the Class of 2022?
Immorally grounded, mentally disturbed, and physically unfit
Billy Graham once famously quipped, “If God doesn’t punish America, he’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah”. It was way back in the early 70’s when he said that. We’ve come a long way since then, a long way downward.
Max (Maxim?) Aleksandrovich Boot was born on September 12, 1969 in Moscow, the son of two Russian Jews. They were lucky: they were able to emigrate to the United States in 1976, bringing young Max with them. Mr Boot, whose parents fled a strongly antisemitic regime in the USSR under Leonid Brezhnev, once said, “I …
The West Point Class of 1972 entered at the height of the Vietnam War. We went, expecting to fight in Vietnam, when our generation and America was split in two. The War ended when the author was in winter Ranger School.
One doesn’t have to be a history buff to understand the significance of June 6, the anniversary of the Allied liberation of Europe in 1944. The D-Day landings in Normandy, France, amounted to the largest amphibious assault ever executed in military history. It marked the start of the two-month-long Battle of Normandy and the eventual liberation …
Do oaths have any meaning in a society not underpinned by virtue or at least fear of punishment? I, for one, think we need to restore virtue to society.
Have you ever had to call roll? Take attendance? You call the persons name, they say “Present!” or “Here!” If they don’t make a response, no big deal, mark them accordingly and just move on. But…
When you have spare time on your hands, it’s easy to waste that time doing fun things, unimportant things, nonconsequential things. You usually find such time after you’ve worked hard to accomplish your tasks, usually ahead of schedule. Having the time to do those silly things is a reward for completing your mission with …
On Wednesday, we looked at the VA’s 2020 National Suicide Prevention Annual Report, which states in no uncertain terms, staring on Page 33, that nay veteran, whether they are on the VA’s radar or not, can and will be surveilled under the guise of preventing suicide. Following that we looked at how Operation Vigilante Eagle …
Yesterday, I pointed out how the VA’s 2020 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report is crystal clear on surveilling veterans under the cover of suicide prevention. You should see a spike in your blood pressure when you begin to study the chart on Page 33. Communists don’t hide their intention. Patriots, in our naivety, simply …
If you are a veteran, if you prefer rural living to urban, if you own guns—even if you don’t access the VA—if you’re even suspected of being at risk for suicide, you WILL be surveilled, if you’re not being surveilled already.
