New York Governor, Kathy Hochul, and California Governor, Damien Thorne, er uh, I mean Gavin Newsome are doing something they might think is brave, but is very stupid, after the NYR&P Association v Bruen. Both states and their governors, along with their massively Democrat controlled legislatures, are directly defying the Supreme Court decision. I hope …
Greetings my fellow Americans! While I’ve striven with most of my AFNN posts thus far to focus more on how we may actually move forward as believers in unalienable rights endowed by our Creator, I thought it worthwhile to reflect upon and examine how we’ve reached the state of affairs in which we find ourselves …
I don’t typically agree with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. about anything, but I was struck by comments he made during a March 2021 podcast entitled “Truth.” Recounting an experience he’d had at a recent political rally in Berlin, Kennedy said, “I was shaking hands and I wasn’t wearing a mask. Nobody was. There were a …
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed a variety of underlying truths about American society that came bubbling to the surface in a dramatic fashion. For one, we saw the inadequacies from many of our political leaders. When moments of decision making came, not only did many of them fumble, their hubris prevented them from admitting fault. …
For anyone of sound mind who hasn’t been in a coma for the past year, it will come as no surprise that our American way of life has been significantly (and perhaps permanently) hamstrung by the likes of people claiming to want to “keep us safe.” While many seem to appreciate and support the notion that …
Let’s remember two years ago, shall we? That is back when you could go anywhere you wanted, anytime you wanted. (Trip to Europe anyone?) When your kids went to school everyday without you having to check your email to see if everything has changed since yesterday. A time when you didn’t know all your friends’ …
“THESE are the times that try men’s souls,” words penned by Thomas Paine on December 23, 1776, six months after a tumultuous Continental Congress voted to approve the Declaration of Independence
The Federal Government has long exceeded its Constitutional role. What can thee states, jointly and severally, do about it?
This morning I woke up to sobbing coming from downstairs. My sweet foreign exchange student was speaking to her parents on the phone, crying. At first, I thought someone must have died. But, as I listened, I realized it wasn’t that. Her parents have decided they need to flee their country. She may very well …
You Might Be a Dona’linsky Apologist if… (Parody Warning.)
It may feel like anything you can do to stand up against the encroachment of our liberties is so little as to be worthless. Your pebble of resistance cannot hold back the flood. Perhaps not. Yet your pebble is absolutely crucial. Mattias Desmet, a PhD in clinical psychology and a masters in statistics, working at …
In response to questions about the vaccine mandate, Dr. Fauci, our intrepid pandemic guardian, says that we need to put our personal freedoms on hold for a bit – for the greater good. Um, no! That’s not how our freedoms work. From my reading of the Declaration of Independence, our freedoms are granted …
The unraveling of the American culture and society is neither a sudden nor unexpected phenomenon. What is witnessed today is the deterioration of our national foundations from folly in the past decades. A horrible reality is now appearing.
Where is that document that defined our nation? Is it now only a remnant of our past? I ask the question using the past tense, because I see us as not living under the umbrella of the Constitution, like I thought we were, as recently as November, 2020.
During the past two years our national economy has come to a halt as measures were instituted to control a virus. Churches were closed, free speech was curtailed, and the right of the people to peaceably assemble and petition the government has been controlled.
There’s something very important going on in Canada right now. For weeks, truckers across the nation have engaged in a massive protest against the country’s COVID measures. Rather than discuss their grievances, Prime Minister Trudeau has demanded that the truckers stop their protest immediately. And then he went into hiding
It didn’t take long for Canadian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland, to decide that the tools provided by the Emergencies Act are so effective, the government will take steps to make them permanent. Speaking to reporters in Ottawa last week, Freeland said: In terms of the financial instruments which our government …
