My piece on “Good Hate” listed issues where the ideas of the Left lead to awful answers. Actually, their solutions make things worse. It’s good to hate these ideas. It’s even better to hate the origins and the outcomes of bad ideas. There’s good reasons for a better hate.
The two greatest Commandments for Christians are to love God with all your heart, mind, strength and soul and love your neighbor like you love yourself. The only verb is love. Love3. Also, the Holy Bible lists things that the Lord God hates. So, it can be good to hate the right things. In America, there’s much to hate about the Left.
The elections of 2022, 2023, and 2024 are as important as the stark choice of 2016 and shameful outcome of 2020. Americans have different levels of awareness for what each election is about. The ways to slice and dice the political divide is the what’s what in American politics. The many growing divisions are what’s going on.
Racism, today, is a hustle. It’s a scam for the Left and their lackeys. Now is the time to declare a Post-Racial Independence Day. Celebrate America’s freedom from racism. Finally.
My personal perspective on West Point, obviously, is mine alone. It’s aged over 50 years since graduation and informed by 65 years of reading history as well as over 2 decades working as an Army “Futurist.” I believe West Point should focus on creating the cadre of the “military priesthood” of the U.S. Army. I know such a shift would get mixed results, but 50 years from now Americans would know the Long Gray Line is about winning America’s wars above all else.
A month ago seven old men who spent 4 years together as company mates at West Point compared memories on why each went there, stayed, and what the place meant – personally. Each testimony was different. Here’s what I wrote 4 years ago and stands the same now. It’s purely a personal epistle.

More Americans died fighting one another in “The Recent Unpleasantness (1861-1865)” than all of our other wars put together. Every year honoring the Confederate half of that most terrible war has its unique highlights and nuances. This year the Army is culturally cleansing the names of its forts. So, the unspoken post-war compromise – where Southerners could honor their soldiers’ valor if they ignored the abuses of Federal aggression and stayed silent about Yankee war crimes – is over.
